PART I) DISCLOSURE STATEMENT AND PRIVACY POLICY UNDER THE TURKISH PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION LAW NO. 6698 (KVKK)
1) Data Controller
1.1) Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), your personal data may be processed within the scope described below by the Tanırım platform (Site/Platform), operated as a personal project at tanirim.com and acting as the data controller for the purposes of this policy.
1.2) This Privacy Policy and KVKK Disclosure Statement sets out the terms and conditions regarding the use of personal data shared with the platform by site users/members/visitors (Data Subject) or arising during the use of the site while operating tanirim.com.
2) For What Purposes Is Personal Data Processed?
2.1) The personal data collected may be processed, within the processing conditions set out in Articles 5 and 6 of KVKK, for the purposes of creating and managing your account (sign-in, email verification, password reset), recording your in-platform interactions such as ratings and favorites, keeping the platform secure (rate limiting, bot protection, abuse detection), responding to your contact requests, and improving the platform through anonymous statistics.
2.2) Your personal data will not be used for purposes other than those stated above, will not be shared with third parties for advertising, and will not be sold.
3) What Is Personal Data? (Processed Data)
3.1) Account data: your email address; if you registered with a password, an irreversible (hashed) form of your password; if you signed in with Google or GitHub, the name and email address received from these providers.
3.2) Profile data: your username, chosen avatar, optional occupation, and optional real name (your real name is never shown publicly).
3.3) Interaction data: your project ratings and favorites.
3.4) Contact data: the name, email address, and message content you submit through the contact form.
3.5) Transaction security data: your IP address, processed temporarily for rate limiting and abuse detection.
3.6) Anonymous usage statistics: view and play counts of the modules (never linked to your identity).
4) Your Camera Footage
4.1) In all webcam-based modules, your camera footage is processed entirely in your browser, on your own device. Neither your footage nor any data derived from it is sent to, recorded, or stored on our servers.
4.2) The photos and videos you capture are also created entirely on your device; the platform never sees or stores them. If a module type requiring a different data practice (such as video upload) is added in the future, this policy will be updated before it is made available.
5) With Whom and for What Purpose Can Processed Data Be Shared?
5.1) Your personal data may be transferred only to a limited number of third-party service providers relied on to run the platform, and only to the extent the service requires: Resend (sending email verification, password reset, and notification emails), Google and GitHub (the authentication flow, only if you choose to sign in with these providers), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection verification on form submissions), Google Analytics (anonymous usage statistics).
5.2) These providers' servers may be located abroad; transfers are carried out within the conditions set out in Articles 8 and 9 of KVKK and limited to the scope the service requires.
6) Cookies
6.1) Essential technical cookies are used to keep your session open and remember your language preference. Google Analytics (GA4) runs via Google Tag Manager for usage statistics; it collects anonymous measurement data. No third-party advertising cookies are used.
7) How Long Is Your Data Retained?
7.1) Data associated with your account is retained for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from your profile page; this action is irreversible and permanently deletes all your data, including your ratings and favorites.
7.2) Accounts left with an unverified email address are automatically deleted within 24 hours. Contact form messages are retained for the time needed to respond and a reasonable follow-up period. Security-related IP records are short-lived and temporary.
8) How Do We Keep Your Data Secure?
8.1) Passwords are hashed one-way and never stored in plain text. All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). When you change your password, your sessions on all devices are terminated for security.
YOUR RIGHT TO APPLY UNDER THE PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION LAW NO. 6698:
Under Article 11 of KVKK, as the Data Subject you have the right to: a) learn whether your personal data is processed, b) request information about the processing, if any, c) learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose, d) know the third parties to whom the data is transferred, domestically or abroad, e) request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data, f) request deletion or destruction of the data under the conditions set out in KVKK, g) request that corrections and deletions be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred, h) object to a result arising against you from analysis performed exclusively by automated systems, i) request compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing.
